About the Role

You are applying for a data expert position in the team that has access to one of Swift’s most valuable assets: its data. Your mandate is to find innovative ways of leveraging that data, either to support the strategy of the company or to design new data-driven products for our customers. How? By leveraging AI and data science techniques. As a data expert you will be involved in topics including anomaly detection, predictive modelling, synthetic data generation and exploring the opportunities of generative AI. The financial industry is a fast-moving environment as emerging firms are making inroads into critical financial services. This fast-paced evolution is reshaping financial services providing consumers with new, convenient options while challenging established norms. The team you will be joining is composed of data experts and product managers working in the Data and Analytics Tribe.

The location is at the Swift headquarters in La Hulpe, BE. Physical presence in the office is expected.

Responsibilities:

• Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyse large datasets to extract actionable insights and communicate your findings

• Collaborate with different teams to define and/or refine requirements and specifications to address business problems

• Participate and support in delivering results and presentations to stakeholders

• Promote and share the team’s work, methods and skills in data science and machine learning within the team and the broader tribe

• Independently extract data from multiple data systems to support analytical efforts

• Pragmatically solve complex analytical problems without impacting quality of deliverables

• Keep abreast with the business context and internal processes to ensure that proposed solutions are compliant and can be developed within the team systems

Must haves:

• Proficiency in Python

• Git

• Data analysis and statistics

• Experience in Machine learning/Artificial intelligence

• Hands-on experience managing the lifecycle of a data science project to deliver efficient solutions.

• Experience working in UNIX systems

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Python development best practices

• hands-on experience with NLP techniques

• Jira

• SQL

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, physics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)

• 3 to 8 years of experience in a similar position, or equival

• Ability to work both independently and collaborate in a team environment

• Attention to detail, organized and comfortable dealing with ambiguity and change

• Great communication skills to optimally interact with multi-functional teams and stakeholders, across all levels

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle various tasks simultaneously
