Position Title: Supplier Social Accountability Manager

Reporting to: Director, Supplier Risk & Compliance

Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Supplier Risk & Compliance, the individual is tasked with supporting the Supplier Risk & Compliance team to develop and grow a world-class supplier social accountability program that uses strong frameworks, risk-based audits, and continuous improvement to ensure fair labor, safe conditions, and ethical practices in our supply chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) topics such as human rights, labor rights, sustainability, safety, ethics and compliance
  • Keep abreast of global trade and regulatory requirements such as ULFPA, UK Modern Slavery Act
  • Support development of Stanley Black & Decker policies and/ or statements on human rights
  • Develop communication materials related to CSR initiatives for internal and external audiences including customers
  • Benchmark company CSR program compared to industry standards, trends and best practices to minimize our exposure to regulatory and reputational risks
  • Educate suppliers on CSR program requirements
  • Coordinate periodic meetings with stakeholders to drive awareness and compliance
  • Review and remediate non-compliance of audits performed on factories based on Stanley Black & Decker and legislative and customer requirements
  • Drive sustainable root cause analysis and action plans for social non-compliance through continuous improvement, training
  • Monitor and report assessment findings and remediation progress and proactively identify potential issues

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sustainability/ Sustainable Management, Supply Chain Management or similar fields
  • Experience working in and developing Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability programs for an organization with a global supply chain
  • Strong planning, project management and coordination skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strategic and analytical skills with capability to develop process improvements
  • Strong attention to detail, and follow up
  • Strong communication skills with ability to respectfully handle sensitive and confidential information
