Nike Athlete Promo Footwear is a category at Nike where designers work on sport and culture for athletes at all levels, including men's, women's, and kids' footwear across more than nine sports. The Athlete Promo Footwear team focuses on enhancing the athlete experience by creating player-exclusive footwear, developing designs with color, material, and graphics for major sporting events, as well as new products for specialty and Olympic sports. The senior designer in this role will be responsible for creating narratives for Nike athletes, which involves directing material toolbox, color strategy, and graphic design. This position requires active participation in the creative process, strong communication skills for presenting design concepts, and the ability to perform complex tasks in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should be versatile, able to solve problems creatively under tight deadlines, and manage various projects. Additionally, they should have a strong understanding of sport culture, and extensive knowledge of footwear construction, color theory, graphic creation, and textiles.
If this is you, you will help create unique player-exclusive and team footwear for Men’s, Women’s, and Kids' sports, including NBA, WNBA, NFL, MLB, and more. Your tasks include setting color and material direction, developing narratives and graphic storytelling, and establishing prints, patterns, and trims across various sports. Working with APF product management teams, you will build engaging narratives that meet the needs of Nike athletes and teams. You'll also collaborate with Development teams to communicate design intent, review schematics, and workshop prototypes. Additionally, you'll manage and design presentation materials and present concepts to teams, leadership, and athletes.
This is an individual contributor opportunity reporting to a Footwear CMG Senior Manager and involves working directly with the Athlete Promo footwear design, product management and development teams, as well as Nike’s inline product categories to align on seasonal directives.
