Texas A&M Health Science Center plays a vital role in advancing education, research, and discovery across the health sciences. As an IT Professional I, you will be at the forefront of supporting this mission by providing reliable and responsive desktop and endpoint support across campus. You will assist faculty, researchers, staff, and students by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with Windows, Mac, and mobile devices, ensuring they can remain focused on their academic and research priorities.

In this role, you will also serve as an escalation point for more complex technical issues, working closely with IT teams to resolve advanced problems and support continuous improvement of IT services across the Health Science Center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support to campus faculty, researchers, administrative staff, and students for desktop hardware, software, and mobile device-related issues

  • Maintain a customer-first attitude and deliver responsive, solution-oriented technical support in a timely manner

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve endpoint computing issues across Windows, Mac, and mobile environments

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, printers, software, and related peripherals

  • Collaborate with Tier III specialists, IT staff, and leadership to support escalation of complex technical issues and service improvements

  • Ensure compliance with IT security, data privacy, and acceptable use policies in support of academic and research operations

  • Document technical solutions, troubleshooting steps, and support procedures to maintain accurate knowledge base resources

What you need to know

Salary: $47,500 annually

Job Location: Bryan/College Station, TX - on campus (Mon thru Fri)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate degree in Information Technology or certificate in technology training, or equivalent combination of training and experience is a plus.

  • Four months (one semester) of student worker and/or customer service experience. Two years of experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of computer equipment is a plus.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with client relations experience.

  • Customer service experience.

  • Experience configuring, administering, and troubleshooting computer systems.

  • Experience supporting Windows, Mac, and mobile device environments.

  • Experience providing technical support in higher education is a plus.
