Position Summary

The role of the Steward is to maintain the cleanliness and sanitization of all food and beverage outlets, kitchen, dinnerware, and food and beverage equipment. Manages setup and takedown of select kitchen and outlet areas.

   

The Radisson Seattle-Tacoma, is looking for looking for an energetic individual for our Food & Beverage team as a Dishwasher/Steward.

PAY DETAILS:

Hourly Wage of $20.00

~Note currently handwashing while new machine comes in.

Key Responsibilities

The Steward is responsible for all activities pertaining to cleaning/maintaining the Food and Beverage storage, preparation and service areas and materials, to include controlling inventories for and ensuring spotless, sanitary condition of all china, glassware, silverware, cookware and serving utensils. In addition, the Steward is responsible for the following:

  • Clean and maintain food and beverage storage/preparation/cooking areas and equipment;

  • Maintain proper sanitation of all dishwashing and pot washing areas and equipment;

  • Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment properly to provide clean, sanitized china, glass and silver;

  • Removal of all trash from kitchen areas, operation of garbage disposal and trash compactor;

  • Maintain control over food and beverage china, glass, silver, cookware and service equipment inventories;

  • Performs breakdown of all food service materials and equipment after banquet functions.

Requirements/Skills

  • Experience working in upscale hotel environment that provides a superior level of guest service with professionalism and discretion

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate with department managers, team members and guests

  • Must possess a strong team spirit

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays

   

Physical Demands

  • Long hours are sometimes required, ability to work flexible schedule

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, frequent bending, occasionally stoop or crawl

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and push or pull up to 150 pounds

  • Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment


Other Information

The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift and alter assigned duties as business dictates.
