JOB MISSION:

The New Balance Team Sports Sales Support Intern will be immersed in the day-to-day operations associated with supporting our Team Sports Collegiate Sales business while working cross-functionally with our internal Sales Support Team (The Front Office).  This individual will become proficient in navigating the various systems associated with the Team business, most notably our NB Custom Configurator building Custom Uniforms, Team Stores, and processing orders.

The Sales Support Intern will participate in remote and in some cases in person sales presentations and meetings.  They will learn the basics of a sales call lifecycle from following up on a lead, initial interaction with prospective customer to closing the deal. The intern will assist in day-to-day operations of the department as well as directly influence the success of special projects.

At the conclusion of this internship this individual will have a solid understanding of New Balance Team Sales retail and direct business and have gained valuable work experience, new skills, and connections, as well as industry experience and confidence.  The intern will be required to share their summer experience with a brief presentation at the conclusion of the internship.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Work Cross-functionally with “The Front Office” by prioritizing workload and working as a team to accomplish time sensitive projects.
  • Assist with building Custom Uniforms, Team Stores and Collections on Configurator
  • Participate in remote Sales Calls and in person Sales Presentations
  • Familiarize with New Balance product (Apparel, Uniforms, Footwear and Accessories).   Be able to discuss key benefits and features of key items - compared to other brands.
  • Research industry specific trends and projects
  • Provide reporting and operations support as needed.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage time, multiple tasks, and deadlines
  • Robust interpersonal skills with an emphasis on problem solving and dealing with multiple customers and various priorities.
  • Hybrid work – 3 days at Brighton HQ; 2 days remotely.
  • Some lifting required with product boxes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams.

Boston, MA Headquarters - (NB) Only Pay Range: $28.60 - $36.68 - $44.71 Hourly (actual base pay varying based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, internal equity, geographic location, and more.)
