Job Description:

Coordinator Credentialing

Responsible for independent coordination and oversight of credentialing process for Medical Staff, Allied Health Professionals and all other providers as deemed necessary.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

         Demonstrates the ability to prioritize/organize

  • Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
  • Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
  • Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
  • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
  • Basic medical terminology
  • Proficiency in documenting meeting minutes

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

  • 1-2 years secretarial science education (or equivalent)
  • Certification by the National Association Medical Staff Services  (CPMSM or CPCS) preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Two years’ experience in acute care hospital setting and/or hospital credentialing
