QGS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas Airways and we’re responsible for providing ground handling services to the Qantas Group.

As a QGS Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and leading the team on shift, ensuring all Key Performance Indicators are met, and all tasks are completed safely. You will be the first point of contact for minor performance issues as well assist in compiling information with regards to safety investigations.  You will be involved in the training and development of the team and perform various administrative and reporting duties, including compiling operational reports and documents using designated systems. It is expected the role will understand and ensure staff follow company policies, procedures and programs to ensure that on-the-job conduct, task and environment complies with set standards and respective legislation (including OHS and EEO legislation and guidelines). Along with achieving and sustaining a high level of work performance, you will also be responsible for cultivating an environment of continuous improvement.

You’ll have: 

  • Proven supervisory experience, preferably gained in an operational environment

  • Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of operational, safety, security, emergency and dispute resolution procedures

  • An ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities, in a constantly changing operational environment

  • Highly developed people leadership skills including performance management, coaching, mentoring and development

  • Passion for providing a great customer experience 

  • You’ll have a safety mindset and will work to all Work Health & Safety guidelines  

  • A hard-working nature and a positive ‘can do’ attitude  

  • Intermediate skills and experience with Microsoft Suite inc. Outlook, Word, Excel

  • The ability to work all shifts in our dynamic 7 day a week, rotational shift roster (meaning shifts will vary from week to week)

  • A current and valid provisional or full state or territory driver’s license
