About the role

The Ultrasound Product Industrialization Leader defines and executes the industrialization strategy for Ultrasound systems and transducers, leading Product Industrialization Engineering teams to ensure successful transition from development to scalable manufacturing. The role drives advanced manufacturing technologies, process innovation, and continuous improvement while collaborating closely with R&D and cross-functional partners to deliver competitive, high-quality products. As a technical leader representing ISC, the position develops industrialization capabilities, ensures regulatory compliance and robust product readiness, and oversees resource allocation, capital planning, and industrialization budgets.

More specifically, the Ultrasound Product Industrialization Leader is responsible for:

  • Defines and executes the industrialization strategy for Ultrasound systems and transducers across multiple product lines. Oversees end to end product industrialization for systems and transducers: PM, unique manufacturing/testing operations, supply optimization, product manufacturability, and scalability.Ensures robust product readiness, manufacturability, reliability, cost performance and compliance with regulations.
  • Drive long-term roadmap for manufacturing technologies, smart automation/AI, sourcing and process innovation to further modernize Product Industrialization Engineering and drive competitive advantage.
  • Technical leader representing ISC in forums where new technology is being discussed for Ultrasound
  • Leads PIE teams end to end, including Advanced Development teams. Drives culture of impact with care and high performance while working closely with R&D and other functions to deliver cutting edge technology that will keep differentiating Ultrasound from competitors.
  • Develops technical capabilities within PIE team to align with new technologies and world advancements in product industrialization. Establishes robust process validation and ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Champions continuous improvement and lean manufacturing to drive productivity, cost competitiveness, yield improvement and sustainability across product lines.
  • Best organize PIE resources according to skillsets needed to strengthen system performance (transducer & consoles). Coordinates knowledge transfer between engineering organizations within ISC to improve process yields and ways of manufacture. Owns industrialization budget, capital planning.

You're the right fit if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Manufacturing Engineering or other related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant (Leadership + Technical) experience in medical device / health technology industry, including minimum 5 or more years’ experience in leadership roles. Ultrasound experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years managing large geographically distributed teams (100+ FTEs) up to and including director level reports with direct line management and budget accountability > 10M.
  • Knowledge of relevant international medical device regulations and standards for medical devices.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of Ultrasound technologies including: acoustics, materials engineering, SW/HW testing and design, product manufacturability, process industrialization, lean product & process designs, micro-processing manufacturing design, smart automation, AI implementation.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large technical teams and driving cross-functional collaboration to bring innovations to market.
  • Strong leadership with ability to demonstrate impact to business in prior roles, including evidence of continuous improvement (such as major quality, reliability, and performance initiatives), building high-performing teams and developing talent.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver continuous short term business results (in a complex and constrained environment) combined with creating and implementing a competitive long-term strategy.
  • Ability to express ideas effectively in both verbal and written formats with both technical and non technical audiences.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in Reedsville, PA is $176,250 to $282,000

The pay range for this position in Cambridge, MA is $197,400 to $315,840

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.    

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.  Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.  Details about our benefits can be found here

At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
