Job Summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead shipping and receiving operations at our East Peoria track-type tractor facility. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and delivery of goods across our supply chain. You will supervise transportation and loading teams, optimize logistics processes, and collaborate with suppliers and customers to maintain high service levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shipping, receiving, and material handling operations.
• Analyze logistics workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Schedule and assign shipment activities based on priorities and storage needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor and improve facility adherence to customer expectations and shipping metrics.
• Report non-compliance issues and escalate as needed.
• Confirm accurate staging of all shipped loose material for each order and sign off relevant operations.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Accuracy & Attention to Detail: Ability to complete tasks with precision and identify error-prone processes.
• Analytical Thinking: Use tools and techniques to assess logistics challenges and potential tradeoffs to provide optimal solutions.
• Team Leadership: Experience supervising logistics personnel and fostering a culture of accountability.
• Process Improvement: Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Background

• Experience in transportation or logistics management within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in logistics software and analytics tools.

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
