Focus of the Role

As a Network Project team lead, your key focus is to lead/manage InfraCo’ s Internal Plough Crews. Managing teams that work in remote locations on rosters with a high emphasis on Safety, Quality and delivering projects on time and within budget. There will be a high emphasis on Fleet, Training, managing High Risk activities.

Develop and manage effective relationship’s directly with the team supporting the Leading Operative onsite with Staff, Project and Planning requirements daily including Annual performance and regular 1:1 reviews.

The Internal Plough Construction Lead has a strong presence ensuring that the team is customer and productivity focussed, understands the business imperatives and efficiently aligns work effort to meet and exceed required performance outcomes.

What You’ll Do

Telstra InfraCo - Operations & Asset Management oversees Telstra's operations and asset management functions.

People and Team Leadership

  • Manage, lead and coach to develop and optimise the team with an emphasis on embedding a health and safety focus in accordance with Telstra policies and processes
  • Lead the team through the cultural change journey with a continuous improvement mindset to improve productivity and efficiency and streamline work processes
  • Drive a high performance culture of sustainable engagement to meet people, customer and financial targets
  • Provide strategic clarity to team members to lead change, achieve customer outcomes and link individual performance to business performance to drive accountability and responsibility
  • Embed the centre of excellence culture by shaping the local environment to be consistent with Telstra values and behaviours
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide regular feedback, recognition and rewards as appropriate
  • Prepare individual and team development plans to build capability to meet current and future skills and resource requirements.
  • Provide one on one coaching and mentoring to assist team members in reaching their potential
  • Proactively manage conduct and discipline where required. Identify roadblocks that impact the performance of the individual or the team and resolve or escalate as appropriate

Business

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peer groups, Delivery teams and collaborate with key internal stakeholders to manage end to end workflow and meet business metrics and deliverables
  • A high level of interpersonal skills and a strong commitment in working in a team environment across various lines of business.
  • Undertake reporting and analysis to monitor business deliverables, productivity and identify business improvements, efficiencies and solutions
  • Support resource decisions from the Delivery team to deliver required customer and business outcomes
  • Manage and meet resource profiles for delivery of programs of work
  • Own and drive business initiatives to improve operational and identify cost efficiencies
  • Monitor team operating costs to effectively manage financial spend within budget
  • Maintain agreed external stakeholders relationships relevant to the achievement of business objectives
  • Ensure compliance to relevant regulatory frameworks and or company policies and procedures including health, safety and environment and ISO
  • Delivery of Customer Service Quality outcomes

About You

The Following skills and experience will help you to be successful in this role:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Frontline Management or equivalent desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, motivating and coaching staff in a complex and changing environment
  • Solving problems of moderate to high complexity
  • Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships
