Introduction
The Commodity Manager Materials is a strategic procurement role that is critical to ensure competitive supply of high-quality materials and services to the GlobalFoundries Dresden operations. This role works closely with key stakeholders in the facilities department to define requirements and with the broader Global Supply Management Team to fully leverage the supply base and global best practices from both a commercial and technical standpoint. It will be focused on Silicon to support our manufacturing equipment. In addition, the coordination for the local materials procurement is also part of this role.
Your Job:
Coordinate tasks w/i the materials team and the various Fab stakeholder (Finance, IDM cost driver)
Define sourcing strategy(s) for assigned commodity in alignment with the objectives of the Global Supply Management organization and the respective global Commodity Head
Act as the primary supplier interface to enable supplier development and collaboration
Plan and conduct local commercial negotiations and support global negotiations as required
Actively utilize strategic tools, processes & systems to perform sourcing and analytical/reporting tasks (Jaggaer, Spend Analytics, Power BI, Cleansheeting, Negotiation Planners, etc).
Act as the primary procurement point of contact for stakeholders for assigned commodity(s) for both ongoing manufacturing operations and new product development activities
Support site specific supply issues working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other key internal stakeholders
Identify continuous improvement opportunities, alternative sourcing strategies, global price trends, and communicate progress / achievements to realize maximum value and organizational objectives
Monitor the local and global market to identify potential new suppliers, product derivatives, and product innovations
Analyze, manage, and control contractual agreements and prepare renegotiations to achieve commercial and technical objectives
Establish a robust business continuity sourcing plan for assigned commodity(s) via mapping supply base and geographic risks with corresponding mitigation plans
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration and/or relevant field of study
Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in an industrial environment
Conversation level fluency in English
Good command of English & German Language – written & verbal
Ability and willingness to travel internationally including Singapore and USA from time to time
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Business, Science or Engineering or related field stud
Knowledge of materials and/or their application in semiconductor manufacturing, quality requirements and related supply base
Proficiency in sourcing related skills including sourcing strategy development and execution, contract management and supplier performance management
Ability to lead projects and cross-functional teams
Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and influence stakeholders and team members.
Experience in a semiconductor environment or related industry
