Role Overview:

McAfee is looking for an experienced Security Researcher to design and deliver robust, scalable security solutions. The role involves real‑time analysis of cyber threats to provide immediate protection through security products. You will help customers stay safe online while promoting greater cybersecurity awareness.

This is a Hybrid position located at our Tokyo office. You will be required to be on-site on a as needed basis, when you are not working on-site you will work from your home location. You must live within commutable distance of the Tokyo office as we are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

About the role:

• Investigating threats and vulnerabilities affecting Android and iOS mobile platforms.

• Conducting in‑depth, low‑level analysis of malware, devices, and operating systems.

• Creating research content such as blogs, conference papers, and technical presentations.

• Exploring and developing next‑generation mobile threat protection technologies.

• Collaborating with researchers and engineers to strengthen McAfee’s leading security solutions for customers.

About you:

• You should have 2–5 years of experience in security research with hands‑on expertise in Android or iOS, and/or Linux operating systems.

• You must be proficient in Android or iOS debugging techniques, including identifying malicious code and performing assembly‑level analysis.

• You will be expected to debug and reverse‑engineer Java bytecode, Dalvik, and ELF file formats using tools such as IDA Pro, JEB, or similar disassemblers.

• You should have a solid understanding of networking protocols, cloud technologies like AWS, secure engineering practices, and at least one modern programming language.

• You will demonstrate a proactive, innovative mindset with strong communication skills to effectively engage and influence diverse audiences.
