Job Summary
Organizes schedules for modality employees, with manager being responsible for the accuracy of the schedule overall. Oversees day to day floor operations within the modality, monitors quality and direct team member education opportunities during these operations. Actively participates in the achievement and maintenance of patient satisfaction scores, by researching and resolving problems. Assists manager with payroll duties as assigned. Monitors and tracks education requirements for employees, as assigned. Assists employees in setting goals, employee performance improvement and initiating/delivering corrective action processes. Participates and aids in increasing employees satisfaction by researching and resolving problems. Provides the Supervisor/Manager input regarding employee performance. May be asked to participate in the interview process of new applicants May lead special projects assigned by leadership.

Essential Functions
  • Plans and organizes radiographic and related services on assigned shift to assure that all examinations are expeditiously processed and meet all standards of quality and safety. Schedules and assigns employees for these services based on workload, patient schedules, experience, and availability.
  • Monitors and recommends changes for departmental patient scheduling. Engages in all opportunities to support increase patient volume and revenue opportunities.
  • Performs radiological and fluoroscopic procedures utilizing standardized positioning, As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) concepts and immobilization techniques to minimize patient movement and maximize patient safety. Produces x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist, ensuring clear and undistorted films.
  • Prepares and assists in administering contrast agents by monitoring dosage and determining any potential allergies ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures.
  • Maintains imaging equipment through safe handling and assisting in necessary calibrations. Contacts service personnel and notifies management of malfunctioning equipment. Provides input into equipment and supply purchase decisions and processes purchase orders to maintain appropriate daily inventory levels. Aids in the expense reduction of departmental supplies.
  • Maintains patient information in picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and in other computerized medical records systems to ensure accurate patient records.
  • Assists employees in setting goals, employee performance improvement and initiating/delivering corrective action processes. Participates and aids in increasing employees satisfaction by researching and resolving problems.
  • Actively participates in the achievement and maintenance of patient satisfaction scores, by researching and resolving problems.

Qualifications
  • Required Associate's Degree or equivalent in health care or related field
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in health care or related field
  • 5 years of relevant experience as Radiographer Technologist Required
  • CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross
