Are you ready to dive into a dynamic internship experience? Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is thrilled to offer an exciting Project Intern role in our Government Market where you'll assist with a variety of projects across our operations—beyond just engineering tasks!

Job Summary

As a Project Intern, you will work on a variety of projects that impact communities and drive environmental stewardship. We are seeking an intern or aide passionate about energy, sustainability, and resiliency to join our team and assist in delivering high-quality engineering projects. You will be right in the action, supporting seasoned professionals with diverse responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist in energy road mapping sustainability assessments, and resiliency planning for engineering projects.
  • Research and analyze data related to energy use, carbon emissions, and sustainable practices.
  • Support the preparation of sustainability reports, LEED documentation, and related certifications.
  • Assist with project management tasks, including tracking project progress and preparing presentations.
  • Contribute to ongoing research and development of innovative energy and sustainability solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members on multiple projects.
  • Attend project meetings and provide support in problem-solving and decision-making processes.

Additional duties may include

  • MS Teams Channel management
  • Preparation of meeting materials for monthly Roundtable engagement
  • Attendance to meetings
  • Assist with GHG inventory data procurement
  • Cross sectional analysis of GHG implementation strategies 
  • Support Climate Action Plan effort

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an engineering or related STEM program, preferably having completed your junior year or more than 60 hours of relevant coursework.
  • Strong analytical skills with effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
