Job Summary:

Dakota Aggregates locally mines and supplies high-quality aggregates for the construction industry from our Rosemount, Minnesota plant. What You Will Do:

The Floater (Ground/Maintenance) Operator will safely perform preventative and general repair, cleanup, and/or maintenance of equipment at the crushing plant, wash plants, and mining areas. Equipment includes crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, etc. Operate the plant by keeping it filled with the proper materials and running efficiently. This position involves the operation of a variety of heavy equipment,

i.e. crushing/washing equipment, front-end loaders, skid loader, water trucks, forklifts, and man lifts. This position will also cover at other plant positions and is considered a "swing shift" as the successful candidate will have to cover vacancies on both shifts with the majority coverage on 2nd shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate various types of heavy equipment used in the crushing & screening of aggregates.
• Operate off-road vehicles and loaders.
• Operate control rooms at different locations at the pit (wash plant, crushing plant, dredge, etc.).
• Perform preventative maintenance of all production equipment.
• Perform emergency maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary, such as: welding, replacing parts, hoses and filters.
• Weld and cut on equipment when necessary.
• Maintain safety in aggregate site and equipment operation.
• Attend educational seminars and achieve industry standards.
• Maintain a clean an orderly work area.
• Must adhere to all MSHA and Company safety rules.
• Operators are responsible for owning and maintaining hand tools used for maintenance.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Attend an annual 8-hour MSHA refresher course.
• New employees must complete 24 hours of new miner training.
• New employees with mining experience greater than two years prior to hire must complete 12 hours of experienced miner training.
• Must have Heavy Equipment Operation experience.
• Must have mechanical ability for general maintenance purposes.

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
