Job Summary:

The Logistics Auditor identifies, analyzes, and settles any issues with customer documentation to ensure correct billing.  Utilizes audit concepts to avoid missed revenue opportunities. Acts as a liaison between the operations team and the accounting team in a highly responsive, fast paced environment. 

Essential Duties:

  • Utilizes appropriate audit concepts to examine data in order to accurately bill the customer and pay carriers

  • Identifies variances and errors in the procurement and payment processes to recover revenue

  • Reviews contracts, agreements, and documents to look for possible missed opportunities in customer funding

  • Utilizes the customer websites to confirm accurate billing records

  • Works closely with internal positions to help them understand customer requirements and collect the required documentation in a timely manner to help accelerate the billing process

  • Finds, supports, and documents any issues with customer invoices and enters them into the transportation management system (TMS)

  • Contributes to the success of the organization by facilitating colleagues with their job functions

  • Provides insight and recommendations for audit process improvements

  • Coordinates the reporting of OSDs with appropriate team members and customers

Experience and Skills:

  • Required: 1 - 2 years of experience as a Logistics Auditor or in a related job function

  • Intermediate computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, customer web sites, keyboard proficiency, etc.) 

  • Ability to input accurate and detailed information into the TMS 

  • High attention to detail and ability to recognize and correct discrepancies

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high call volume environment

  • Self-motivated personality with exceptional attendance and punctuality

  • Ability to perform job duties with a high sense of urgency in task completion

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to multi-task effectively and flexible to adapt to change

Education Requirements:

  • Required: High School Diploma/GED

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree or higher

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Physical Demands

This job operates in a physical office environment and is largely a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands, arms and fingers to effectively operate computer equipment and handle and/or lift objects up to 20 pounds.   

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position has an assigned work shift which is typically daytime business hours. The shift requirements can fluctuate during the annual Peak shipping season project which can include afternoons, nights, and weekend shift hours if deemed necessary by management.
