About Position 

The Sr. Manager, Merchant Solutions Partner Marketing position is a highly experienced, strategic, and commercially minded marketing role that will play a critical part in further accelerating Paidy’s expansion by driving high-impact partner marketing initiatives with some of our most important local and global merchants.

As a leader within the Merchant Solutions team, you will own the partner marketing strategy for priority merchants, act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on both sides, and lead complex, multi-market, multi-channel initiatives that deliver measurable business results. You will be responsible not only for execution excellence, but also for shaping long-term partner marketing vision, frameworks, and best practices. This role reports to the VP of Merchant Solutions.

Key Role and Responsibilities

The key objectives of this role are to set direction, lead, and scale partner marketing efforts with the company’s most strategic merchants. Specifically: 

  • Own and define the partner marketing strategy for top-tier strategic merchants, aligning partner objectives with Paidy’s commercial and brand goals
  • Act as the senior marketing point of contact for key partners, building trusted, executive-level relationships and representing Paidy as a long-term strategic partner
  • Identify partners’ business challenges, goals, and growth opportunities, and translate them into integrated, insight-driven marketing strategies
  • Lead the planning, negotiation, and execution of high-impact co-marketing initiatives across owned, earned, and paid channels
  • Drive achievement of business KPIs (e.g., acquisition, conversion, revenue, adoption) through partner marketing programs
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Sales, Product, UX, and Engineering to deliver cohesive partner experiences
  • Establish best practices, frameworks, and playbooks for partner marketing to support scalability and consistency
  • Lead complex projects end-to-end, including budgeting, resource allocation, timelines, and performance evaluation
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members 

Skills and Requirements

  • 5+ years of marketing experience, with a strong track record in partner marketing, alliance marketing, or strategic account marketing
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, multi-channel marketing initiatives with strategic partners
  • Strong ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional stakeholders independently
  • Proven capability to translate business strategy into actionable, creative marketing programs
  • Deep understanding of both business objectives and customer needs, with a strong commercial mindset
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, prioritization, and performance tracking
  • A solution-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable navigating ambiguity and turning challenges into opportunities
  • Experience with CRM, lifecycle marketing, or data-driven marketing initiatives is a plus
  • Business-level fluency in Japanese and English (spoken and written) is required
