  The primary role of the Senior Designer, Japan Home Care is to be the design leader in the business, to own the evolution of our brands with elevated design and visuals with executional excellence.

  You will report to the Senior Design Director.

  What success looks like

  Grow into a trusted Design expert who works effectively with the Marketing and Design leaders and build strong working relationships and drumbeats with Multi-functional team members. Co-create and refine designs to adapt to the nuances and challenges of local markets, driving winning brand propositions

  Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee multiple initiatives from design strategy to execution while fully articulating the local consumer needs and business context.
  • Collaborate with internal (multi functional) and external teams to manage the end to end design process from create consumer winning concepts to implementation. Projects include (but not limited to) innovative package design, digital design, brand identity/ assets creation, photography etc.
  • Translate consumers insights and business needs into consumer appealing design solutions
  • Coach and mentor internal & external designers and print production specialists to ensure high level of design quality and efficient workflow. In parallel, grow the team’s capabilities.
  • Own and drive design prioritises of team’s activities, including work processes, budgets, stewardship/ tools to deliver on design teams’ agenda.
  • Lead assigned projects to ensure goals delivered are timely and on budget – while maintaining strong communication with key partners along the way.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a similar field
• At least 8—15 years agency/design studio/in-house experience in graphic design, art direction, digital design, and package design within the beauty industry.
• Prior experience working in Japan or Korea market is advantageous.
• Design leadership skills to represent design in key decisions making processes.
• Experience leading a team and external agency partners.
• Proficient on Mac platform; Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and 3-D drawing programs are a plus.
• Strategic and thoughtful in approach to design and branding.
