Quality Engineer
As a Quality Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring the timely flow of high-quality product from raw material to finished goods, and the proper handling of non-conforming material. You will work with the various functional departments to revise and improve company procedures and processes, conduct internal, external, and physical configuration audits, evaluate, and assess new suppliers. You will facilitate root cause analysis of repetitive and serious quality issues employing cross functional groups to determine corrective and preventive actions.

Your Challenge:
Ensure all work is performed according to the Quality Management System (QMS).
Reviews contract documents for flowdown of customer Quality requirements
Assists in identifying, communicating, and resolving supplier quality problems. Conducts audits of new and existing suppliers to determine manufacturing capability and adherence to accepted quality practices. Drives corrective and preventive actions.
Analyzes trends on supplier quality issues and performance metrics.
Participates in cross-functional teams as the Quality representative. Engages in applying/leading quality tools and techniques.
Participates in product design reviews. Uses quality tools and practices to establish approval criteria for both internal and externally manufactured parts and assemblies.
Monitors and facilitates quality activities/hold points for part approval, verifies manufacturing process and confirms process capability.
Investigates product quality related issues and concerns related to product and processes, gathers, and analyzes data, resolves/facilitates resolution and implements corrective action.
Facilitates and writes quality procedures for the purpose of maintaining/updating the company quality management system and supports quality system audits, reviews results with audit team, and participates in management review meetings.
Provides training to coworkers, inspectors, technicians and auditors on quality procedures and tools.
Follows every reasonable precaution to ensure work is performed to the Health & Safety procedures. Immediately report accidents and incidents and participate in their investigations.
What You Bring:
10 years relevant experience.
Previous working experience in a manufacturing environment, working with welding, machining, fabrication, assembly, and painting operations.
Working with a large supply base of more than 300 external providers.
Extensive Supplier assessment/audit experience.
Experience with TIPQA (Quality Management Suite) or equivalent would be considered an asset.
Drawing and schematic interpretation, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is considered an asset.
Standard quality tools such as FMEA (Failure Modes Effect Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), Root Cause Analysis and Statistics.
Working experience with ERP systems.
Oracle or similar MRP system experience would be considered an asset.
ISO 9001:2015, AQAP 2110 or AS9100 requirements.
Advanced data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (preferably in one of the following areas: design, manufacturing, or quality)
Professional designation (P. Eng, C.E.T or ASQ certified Quality Engineer).
CQE designation from ASQ is an asset.
