To support this evolution and scale with growing customer demands, the company is seeking a Senior Vice President of Technology Operations to lead global production operations—including cloud infrastructure, DevOps, application support, platform reliability, and customer hosting environments.

This executive will be accountable for ensuring platform uptime, performance, and incident management, while building a data-driven, resilient, and scalable operations function. They will provide strategic oversight of Duck Creek’s technology operations—most notably Cloud Services and Application Support—aligning infrastructure and service delivery with business priorities and customer expectations. Partnering cross-functionally across Product, Engineering, and Customer Success, the SVP will optimize performance, drive automation, and lead a high-impact global team in delivering enterprise-grade service capabilities.

  • Lead global Technology Operations teams, including Cloud Services, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Application Support.
  • Oversee production support across all customer environments (including dev, test, and UAT), ensuring high availability and SLA compliance.
  • Establish and scale robust incident management, change control, release governance, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Drive automation across deployment, support, and platform operations to reduce manual effort and increase resilience.
  • Champion a metrics-driven culture grounded in performance KPIs (MTTR, MTTA, Accelerate metrics, etc.).
  • Serve as executive point of escalation for high-severity incidents; engage directly with enterprise customers to ensure transparency and resolution.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Architecture to align operational processes with product roadmap and customer needs.
  • Own cloud cost management, capacity forecasting, and global support delivery strategy.
  • Support migration of legacy single-tenant customers to the multi-tenant SaaS platform.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing, globally distributed team, while driving process improvement and upskilling across all levels.
  • Own vendor relationships, SLAs, and tooling related to infrastructure, observability, and DevOps enablement.

WHAT YOU’VE DONE:

  • Bachelor’s or Masters Degree and/or equivalent experience relevant to functional area
  • 12+ years of experience; Senior Vice President (or equivalent) roles in Technology Operations, with experience in infrastructure, cloud platform leadership, and global team management at scale
  • Proven track record operating and scaling large-scale SaaS platforms in complex, SLA-driven environments
  • Deep experience managing multi-cloud environments (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also acceptable)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS:

  • Develops and communicates a clear, long-term vision for global technology operations that aligns with business objectives. Connects high-level strategy to tactical execution, and rallies cross-functional stakeholders around shared goals.
  • Takes full ownership of uptime, performance, and service delivery outcomes. Defines meaningful metrics, tracks progress rigorously, and fosters a culture of operational discipline and continuous improvement.
  • Expertise in DevOps transformation, including CI/CD pipeline development, infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform), and deployment automation.
  • Makes informed, timely decisions using a combination of data, experience, and cross-functional input. Breaks down complex challenges, evaluates tradeoffs, and delivers pragmatic, high-impact solutions.
  • Team Building & Talent Development: Attracts, retains, and inspires top-tier talent. Invests in coaching and mentorship, sets clear expectations, and creates a culture of psychological safety, growth, and accountability.
  • Strong grasp of SRE principles, observability, and production-grade monitoring (MTTR, incident response, change failure rate, etc.).
  • Demonstrated success leading application support for live, customer-facing platforms—owning uptime, performance, and customer incident resolution.
  • Skilled at incident response leadership, root cause analysis, and implementation of systemic, preventive solutions.
  • Hands-on experience managing hybrid SaaS models, including single-tenant to multi-tenant architecture migrations.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget ownership, forecasting, capacity planning, and justifying ROI for operational investments.
