Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is seeking Assembler Installer Cable Center Systems to join our teams supporting Boeing Commercial Airplanes in our Renton or Everett locations in Washington State! This is an exciting opportunity to assemble

and install pulleys and rig cables for major flight controls.

As a mechanic in this position, you will play a crucial role in the installation of pulleys and the rigging of cables for major flight control components, such as flaps, brakes, rudder, and tail fin. This exciting opportunity allows you to work at different stages of the aircraft assembly process, contributing to the creation of high-quality aircraft. Position Responsibilities:

  • Use drawings that specify the airplane number, section number, and three-point location to locate the work area.

  • Verify that the kitted (pre-picked) detail parts, standards, and assemblies were issued correctly.

  • Ensure that the parts issued are suitable for the airplane and are free of visible defects.

  • If parts are not pre-picked, obtain the necessary parts and ensure that they are suitable for the airplane and free of visible defects.

  • Refer to the bar chart or automated timeline to determine which job to work on and obtain the appropriate drawings for the job.

  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in an approved manner.

  • Use a drill motor (e.g., 90-Degree Power Vane) to drill, ream, and countersink full-size holes in parts/assemblies, following the proper sequence and size specified in the drawing.

  • Set countersinking tools to the correct depth.

  • Disassemble parts and deburr holes using chip chasers, deburring tools, and files to prepare for the installation of fasteners.

  • Install cable control pulleys and/or assemblies according to the drawing. Use a Tensiometer to set cable tension to the specified specifications.

  • Install and adjust engine throttle control systems as per the specifications.

  • Check and adjust actuator motors for full travel of flight control systems using an aircraft and/or portable power source, as well as hand tools.

  • Clean surfaces with solvents before sealing or assembly.

  • Apply sealant, alodine, primer, adhesives, and special finishes as required, following the IP, drawing, or Boeing (BAC) specifications.
     

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools

  • Basic Computer experience and competency.

  • Experience working with safety and quality processes and procedures.

  • Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6-8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematic and diagrams

  • Effectively communicate information.

  • Attended a Boeing partnered manufacturing related high school or community and technology college academic program

High school diploma and/or General Education Diploma (GED)
