ROLE SUMMARY

The Enterprise Platforms team delivers the following capabilities for Pfizer. Business application platforms supporting Pfizer’s enterprise application and critical business processes.  Infrastructure allowing business traffic to travel where it needs to go, internally and externally, along with the appropriate access controls.  The team secures Pfizer's most important information assets through world class controls and protections and enables Pfizer's business results by making security an enabler and not a roadblock to achieving business results.

The Service Management function owns and operates platforms that help Enterprise Platforms and its customers build, deploy, and run leading-edge services on-premises and in the cloud. Service Management platforms support best practices related to the delivery of IT operations and site reliability engineering (SRE) that help customers create and maintain scalable and highly reliable systems, gather data and insights, and manage change, risks, and costs. The service areas included are: Service Management Tools, Environment Monitoring Tools, Service Data Analytics, and Insights.

As a software engineer you will develop next-generation technology. You will be a technical member of a team using agile development methodologies and DevOps to provide continuous delivery of solutions. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the technology stack as we continue to push technology forward.  You will be responsible for delivering high quality software solutions.  This role requires strong collaboration skills, the ability to work independently with a focus on high quality and a strong sense of accountability. The role also requires a strong desire for continuous learning to stay current with the rapidly evolving global technology landscape and significant attention to detail and quality

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop full stack web applications in one or more technologies, with ASP.Net Core, C# required and VB.Net, Java, C++, Python, Go, JavaScript and/or Oracle PL/SQL a plus.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve new and existing software solutions, primarily ASP.NET web applications and APIs (REST and SOAP), with a strong sense of accountability and attention to quality.
  • Perform stringent testing of code written, including designing, and writing automated tests to allow for continuous delivery.
  • Help the team embrace agile core values, adopt, and apply those principles, and implementation practices.
  • Identify data trends related to errors, discrepancies and overall improvement of the applications.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with customers to gather requirements and manage those requests through implementation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development.
  • Experience in software development and maintenance of full stack ASP.Net Core web applications and APIs (SOAP and REST), utilizing .NET 5 and above, with a strong focus on C#.
  • Implementing front-end solutions using the Angular framework.
  • Managing SQL-based database backends, with a preference for Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Demonstrated GitHub or equivalent source control practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively document software designs and communicate implementation details.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to debug and understand legacy codebase. Identify data trends related to errors, discrepancies and overall improvement of the applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in an agile work environment possessing qualities such as a collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and a proactive problem-solving approach.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Dependency Injection patterns, RxJS, Typescript, Bootstrap, LINQ libraries.
  • Experience with integrating external systems, including ASP.NET web applications, into ServiceNow using REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Experience with ServiceNow platform development and integration is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ITSM processes and best practices is a plus.
  • ServiceNow certification(s) is a plus.
  • Cloud-specific experience with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.
