Job Description:
This job is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. Key responsibilities include developing a technology strategy, ensuring technology solutions comply with applicable standards, promoting design, engineering, and organizational practices, and advocating and advancing modern, Agile solution delivery practices. Job expectations may include coaching, mentoring, providing feedback and hands on career development, identifying emerging talent, fostering leadership skills, and managing stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Builds and manages teams by performing financial activities to inform workforce strategy and hiring practices, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees/teams to address feedback and achieve quality and performance objectives
Provides technical and organizational leadership within the Authentication Technology domain, leveraging deep expertise in authentication journeys, security controls, customer experience, and enterprise-scale front-end architecture and builds, leads, and develops high-performing engineering teams
Leads the design, delivery, and support of complex front-end solutions using the Bank's approved technologies and frameworks (Sparta) ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security, accessibility, usability standards
Leads major triage, incident response, and problem management activities, driving rapid root cause identification, stakeholder communication, mitigation planning, resolution of production issues and contributes to and executes the technology strategy for Authentication Technology and front-end engineering platforms, driving modernization, automation
Facilitates performance and career development of employees/teams through performance reviews, coaching, and creating development plans that are needed to build competencies and skills
Manages solution delivery and application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews), ensuring all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies are met
Manages relationships with business and technology partners and leads and creates followership in Communities of Practice in the organization
Contributes to the technology strategy for their technical domain
Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers
Ensures that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with product management and other stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
Authentication Technology Expertise: Demonstrated expertise within Authentication Technology, including customer authentication experiences, identity and access management concepts, authentication flows, fraud prevention controls, security requirements, and enterprise-scale customer protection solutions.
Front-End Engineering & Solution Design: Extensive experience designing, developing, and delivering enterprise front-end solutions using modern web technologies and frameworks (Bank's Sparta framework and related front-end architecture patterns).
Leadership & People Development: Demonstrated success leading engineering organizations as both a Feature Lead and Technology Manager.
Solution Delivery Process: Drives adoption and continuous improvement of solution delivery practices across multiple teams. Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale initiatives from concept through production while balancing delivery commitments, operational excellence, and business objectives.
Planning, Execution, and Process Management: Leads program and portfolio-level planning activities, manages dependencies, risks, and impediments, and ensures alignment between technology execution and strategic priorities. Expert understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and software development lifecycle practices.
Production Support, Triage, and Operational Excellence: Proven experience leading critical triage, incident management, and production support activities. Demonstrated success driving root cause analysis, coordinating cross-functional resolution efforts, improving operational stability, and preventing recurrence through sustainable corrective actions.
Financials and Resource Management: Ability to manage workforce capacity, resource allocation, vendor utilization, and financial planning across multiple teams to ensure delivery commitments align with business and organizational objectives.
Risk Management: Identifies, assesses, and mitigates technology, operational, security, and delivery risks. Ensures compliance with enterprise governance, audit, regulatory, and risk management requirements.
Stakeholder Management and Influence: Builds strong partnerships with senior business and technology leaders. Demonstrated ability to influence decisions, align stakeholders, drive consensus, and effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Engineering Excellence and Technology Strategy: Contributes to technology strategy and engineering roadmaps. Drives adoption of modern engineering practices, automation, observability, resiliency, accessibility, and front-end modernization initiatives.
DevOps and Release Management: Experience supporting continuous integration, continuous delivery, automated testing, release management, and deployment activities. Strong understanding of DevOps principles and operational ownership models.
Application Architecture: Strong understanding of application architecture, enterprise standards, design patterns, scalability, performance optimization, and security principles. Experience partnering with architecture teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions
Desired Qualifications:
10+ years of technology and software engineering experience within large, complex organizations.
Significant experience within Authentication Technology, Identity, Access Management, or Customer Protection technology domains.
Proven experience leading front-end engineering teams and delivering enterprise-scale web applications.
Demonstrated success building high-performing teams with improving productivity, quality, and delivery capacity over time.
Strong verbal, written, presentation, and executive communication skills.
Experience within financial services or other highly regulated industries
