Job Description

The Software Application Developer I, under direction of the Director of Enterprise Systems, performs routine software development support functions.

The Office of Innovative Technology Solutions is located at the Stephenville Campus. This is a hybrid position with work hours of Monday – Friday; 8 AM – 5 PM or as work requirements indicate. Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- 25% Confers with clients to define application requirements and identifies specifications for new or revised applications.

- 20% Develops and maintains system documentation, including user guidelines and program modifications.

- 20% Designs, reviews, and modifies program code and technical specifications for new or revised applications.

- 15% Assists with testing of complex programs, program modifications, or applications.

- 10% Provides technical assistance, training, and problem-solving support to applications users.

- 10% Participates in code reviews and contributes to improving development processes and standards.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Four months related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

- Knowledge of intermediate troubleshooting, client relations, formulating and contributing ideas, and knowledge of Information Technology Interface Library (ITIL).

- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Education and Experience

- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

- Knowledge of SQL.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to formulate and contribute ideas.

- Excellent communication skills.

- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Ability to manage priorities effectively.

Salary:

Commensurate with experience

The target base annual salary is $48,632.80 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
