Job Description Summary:

The Point of Care Testing Coordinator is responsible for the operations of laboratory testing performed in areas other than the main laboratory. Responsibilities include: equipment evaluation and selections; training and certification of staff; monitoring of quality control, proficiency testing and quality assurance; preparation of procedure manual; and compliance with deferral, state and local regulations and voluntary standards. Examples of areas when alternate site testing occurs: Nursing units, physicians offices, health centers, McConnell Heart Health Centers, Outpatient Surgery Center, Family Practice, and Work Health. This position also consults on issues of Point of Care Testing to any OhioHealth facility and any community health facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (Required)ASCP - American Society for Clinical Pathology - American Society for Clinical PathologyAmerican Society for Clinical PathologyAmerican Society for Clinical PathologyBachelor's degree from four year college or university, in Medical Terminology; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification by the Board of registry of the A.S.C.P. Experience in evaluation of equipment or methods and principles of quality control and clinical correction of data. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of regulatory standards of accrediting agencies of CAP, JCAHO, CLIA and COLA. service oriented with demonstrates abilities in leadership role. 5 yrs. in large tertiary care hospital with demonstrated interpersonal, and communication skills.
