POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Director, Learning and Development, the Senior Advisor, Learning and Development will be responsible for the delivery of learning and development at BDC and support national projects by collaborating with various stakeholders and business lines.

Drawing on your experience in adult learning and development, you will contribute to the needs analysis, design, deployment, and measurement strategy of innovative learning interventions. You will also be called upon to facilitate virtual and face-to-face sessions depending on the project. As part of project management, you will be responsible for building trusting relationships to influence stakeholders in decision-making, prioritizing the objectives to be achieved and ensuring integration between them. As a member of the Human Resources team, you will also contribute to our talent offering and ensure alignment and coherence of all initiatives with other key HR projects, culture and expected behaviors.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various stakeholders across the organization to proactively enhance our current learning and development offering by ensuring an exceptional and standardized employee experience.

  • Analyze development needs, design, deploy and measure the impact of practical learning strategies adapted to our organizational context, in collaboration with content experts.

  • Facilitate engaging virtual and face-to-face workshops, applying best practices in adult learning.

  • Build trusting relationships, based on your credibility and advanced interpersonal skills, with leaders to influence strategy, decision-making and prioritization of objectives to be achieved.

  • Establish effective project governance by ensuring decision-making at the right level and integrating the appropriate stakeholders according to the complexity of the project.

  • Have a strategic and comprehensive vision to identify the potential impacts of your interventions, measure the effectiveness of the solution and modify the approach according to evolving needs.

  • Advise our internal partners in a context of constant change. Adapt your approach along the way and be comfortable with change.

  • Maintain a network of productive business relationships to understand needs and provide strategic advice and direction to internal and external partners.  Proactively manage a network of external partners and vendors to implement targeted initiatives.

  • Contribute to the development of practice by keeping abreast of the latest trends and approaches in learning and development and organizational development.

  • Mentor and direct more junior resources as needed

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Apprenticeship and/or related field, or equivalent work experience. Master's degree considered an asset.

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in learning and development including the design, development and deployment of corporate organizational learning programs, banking is an asset.

  • Extensive experience in governance, organizational and complex project management, and multi-stakeholder management

  • Demonstrated ability to align competencies and development with organizational strategy and desired culture

  • Demonstrated experience in designing onboarding programs and sales training programs is a strong asset

  • Excellent business acumen and strong interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Experience in facilitation

  • Ability to work effectively in PowerPoint and strong storytelling skills

  • Interest in data and analysis, in analysis and measurement of needs

  • Teamwork, adaptability, tolerance for ambiguity and sense of innovation

  • Excellent communication, verbal and written, in French and English
