About Us - Emergency Department
The Emergency Department is a 41 bed, Level II Trauma Center, Level II Stroke Center, & Level I STEMI Center
More than 45,000 annual visits
Staffed 24/7 with Residency-trained, Board Certified Emergency Physicians as well as Physicians, Physicians Assistants and Nurse Practitioners
BHAT – Behavioral Health Assessment Team provides Psychiatry consulting services on a full-time basis in the Emergency Department
The Emergency Department is well established in the region as a heart care leader and has attained world-class ranking in door to balloon times well into the 90th percentile
What You’ll Do
Under direction of the Emergency Department (ED) nursing director, reviews and resolves radiology and laboratory discrepancies. Works closely with ED physicians to ensure patients requiring further care are asked to return to the ED or given instructions as directed by physicians. Answers questions about general ED patient follow up care and well-being, laboratory test results, and medications. Assists with specialty follow up appointments for patients who have been referred by Emergency Department physicians. Gathers and analyzes department statistics and information obtained from ED records. Assists with ED staff education.
Requirements
1.AHA ACLS within 120 days.
2.AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 30 days.
3.Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state. If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse’s state of residence.
4.If no experience as an RN or LPN in a hospital setting or it has been more than 5 years since last worked in a hospital setting, nurses must successfully pass Patient Care Orientation (PCO) within 30 days.
5.Successful completion of a sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) adult/adolescent education program which meets International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) education guidelines.
6.Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) upon hire.
Preferred Requirements
1.Minimum of 2 years Emergency nursing experience.
