The AVP Product Management is responsible for leading a product team that is responsible for developing product strategies/roadmaps and execution including proper assessment, planning, requirement gathering, prioritization and development. Product oversight includes both external customer-facing applications (portal, mobile app, etc.) as well as internally facing products (CRM, 3rd party applications, etc.). This individual should have a track record in understanding client needs and pain points, identifying opportunities for innovation and translating those opportunities into a strategic product roadmap. This role will be focused on partnering with the business to drive digital transformations focused internally and externally. This leader will build and nurture strong relationships with Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Operations stakeholders to evaluate opportunities, align on priorities and drive results against a common set of objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

Product Strategy - 50%

  • Defines 24-36 month vision for all company products/ digital experiences; aligns business goals with product strategies
  • Stays current with technology trends emerging / disrupting the status quo; Translates that analysis into actionable concepts to benefit the staffing and sales/recruiting space
  • Ensures team is gathering insights from internal and external users’ feedback, web analytics, research, competitors and data analysis to understand user needs and synthesizing into learnings and into product plans
  • Identifies problems to be solved digitally and leads efforts/teams to identify root causes, identify and build solutions, and realize ROI
  • Oversees market research, user research, data analysis and user testing that informs product requirements to build products
  • Partners closely with cross-functional business leaders to identify and drive process and technology optimizations
  • Manages third party vendor relationships and contract negotiations

Product Execution - 30%

  • Directs development and execution of multiple product roadmaps
  • Monitors performance of products to ensure KPIs are met.
  • Responsible for ensuring the proper definition, approach, facilitation and satisfactory completion of product related projects including identifying and mitigating risks, setting milestones, timelines, and budgets Collaborates closely with Technology leadership to ensure continual alignment of solutions with business strategies and expected timelines and overall orchestration of releases

Team Management - 20%

  • Maintains and improves the team's knowledge and expertise in product management, agile delivery, digital best practices, etc.
  • Instills a culture of domain expertise within the team - product, market, and competitors
  • Coaches and develops associates to achieve maximum performance
  • Interviews and selects candidates for hire; implements associate engagement strategies
  • Maintains the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team
  • Conducts 90-day and annual performance evaluations; coaches associates to maximum performance 
  • Participates in annual Succession Planning and Talent Review pre-planning
  • Creates and delivers associate corrective actions and performance improvement plans as needed

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE)

  • May work on special projects or other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY/BUDGETARY/EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY

  • Manages a team up to 10 exempt direct reports
  • Communicates with external vendors and service providers
  • Leads the department budgeting process

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required  
  • 15+ years of related experience with 10+ years of end-to-end product delivery experience 
  • 10+ years of experience leading teams required 
  • 10+ years working in an Agile development environment
