The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The Platform Operations Leader drives the core business operations, portfolio operations, and execution rhythm for the product platform. This role acts as a central integrator across platform leadership, Finance, Strategy, ESC, Verticals, Global Commercial teams, and R&D. The position ensures disciplined execution of operational processes, supports portfolio decision‑making, and enables alignment across functions to deliver growth and operational performance.

As the Platform Operations Leader you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by leading in the following key areas:

  • Lead preparation and alignment of all inputs for Quarterly Operating Reviews and Quarterly Financial Reviews, partnering across platform, portfolio, commercial, and strategy teams.
  • Lead annual Operational Planning, partnering with Finance and cross‑functional teams to develop market, competitive, product, and growth plans.
  • Support organizational planning and day‑to‑day operational coordination, ensuring meeting agendas, preparation, and follow‑up actions are executed with rigor.
  • Drive implementation of key initiatives that support platform priorities and cross‑functional change programs.
  • Manage price, margin levels, and gross margin mix in partnership with Finance and commercial partners.
  • Ensure end‑to‑end operational execution by coordinating with enterprise functions such as supply chain, sales, quality, and procurement.
  • Lead the operating cadence for the Platform Operating Committee and Extended Leadership Team, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings.
  • Develop content and manage logistics for Quarterly Global Communication Meetings, including external speakers and executive‑level presentation support.
  • Lead monthly headcount and resource prioritization processes and maintain visibility to staffing, requisitions, and platform resource needs.
  • Manage the annual NPI Prioritization process in alignment with TEBG strategic priorities and capital allocation framework, establishing criteria, structuring reviews, and ensuring cross‑portfolio alignment and resource allocation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for global commercial initiatives, including churn management, RTOs, inventory actions, and Salesforce‑related support.
  • Lead portfolio management activities including performance measurement, investment analysis, and prioritization aligned with the portfolio strategy framework.
  • Conduct portfolio planning by analyzing long‑term customer and market trends to inform product and portfolio decisions, including NPI and NTI priorities.
  • Drive execution of technology and product development partnerships in collaboration with R&D and vertical organizations.
  • Lead time‑sensitive, business‑critical initiatives and taskforces as needed, providing executive level support to the product platform president
  • Oversee competitive intelligence activities, consolidate insights, and lead quarterly action and mitigation reviews.

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Ten (10) years of experience in business operations, portfolio management, commercial operations in cross‑functional leadership roles in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience working across product platforms, portfolio governance, or global commercial organizations.
  • Familiarity with operational planning processes, NPI governance, and enterprise operating rhythms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment and influence without authority.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi‑stakeholder processes across functions and geographies.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in financial, market, and portfolio analysis.
    Exceptional organizational, communication, and executive‑level presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker who is data-oriented
  • Self-motivated and an excellent communicator at all levels of the organization
  • Experience leading complex projects to improve end-to-end business processes
  • Ability to drive results through influencing others and overcoming barriers to change
  • Experienced in data management, data collection, and data modeling
  • Experience in an international, cross-cultural working environment

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
