Systems Admin, Staff

As a Systems Admin, you will perform complex activities regarding monitoring system hardware, network, and infrastructure software performance, solve problems, and suggest improvements. The purpose of this job is to protect availability and security of computer systems and network connections. You will participate in the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance is consistent with Company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Your Challenge:

  • Ensures the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance with business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. Sets end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. (25%)

  • Installs and configures software and hardware. Ensures security through access controls, backups, and firewalls. Performs and tests routine system backups and restores. (25%)

  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware and software problems on desktops, servers, printers, and workstations and escalates incidents as necessary. (25%)

  • Practices network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information. Analyzes system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance. Recommends, schedules, and performs software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases. (25%)

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience administering a Windows AD environment, including PCs, laptops and servers

  • Demonstrated proficiency with wide range of hardware and software

  • Experience with VEEAM software is a plus.

  • Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • VMware or ESXi

  • NetApp (network-based storage)

  • Cisco network switching and routing

  • Backup Exec software

  • Quantum Tape Library

  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience

  • Strong customer service orientation along with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Proactive, self-reliant and resourceful; excellent problem solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
