Role overview:
Reporting to Head of Data Science, a Data scientist is expected to develop and deploy core ML algorithms required to tackle data science challenges within JD group while adopting the best practices in the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Extracting, transforming and manipulating huge transactional datasets with regular application of robust statistical techniques.
- Translate business requirements into data science use cases.
- Apply advanced statistical, mathematical and ML modelling techniques for predictive modelling, and performance optimization/measurement.
- Supporting all aspects of a data science project lifecycle, starting from scoping, data gathering, pre-processing, dimensionality reduction, hyperparameter tuning, modelling, evaluation, deployment, documentation, industrialization and performance monitoring.
- Applying data science techniques to support measurement of media effectiveness
- Present insights from modelling in PowerBI dashboards.
- Collaborate with D&I and other business teams to develop data products that allow us to embed the use of data science directly in our processes.
Role objectives and KPI’s:
- Leverage data to extract valuable insights and drive data-informed decision-making within an organization.
- Responsible for developing and implementing machine learning models, conducting advanced statistical analyses, and solving complex business problems using data-driven approaches.
- KPIs for a Data Scientist role includes, but is not limited to, accuracy and performance of predictive models, impact on business metrics through data-driven recommendations, successful completion of analytical projects, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Skills and Experience:
- Graduate, Postgraduate or Ph.D in STEM field ( preferably Maths, Stats, Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML)
- Solid understanding of classical ML algorithms like Regression (linear, non-linear, Ridge, Lasso), Classification, Gradient Boosting, Gradient Descent, Segmentation.
- Familiarity with neural networks, NLP, Tensorflow, Reinforcement learning, will be appreciated.
- 1-3 years of industry work experience in the field of data science/AI/ML.
- Good programming skills in python
- Skilled in using database querying language like SQL.
- Experience of developing, deploying and industrialising models on cloud-based platform.
- Knowledge of MLOps and CI/CD pipelines is preferable.
- Knowledge of version control tools like Github, bitbucket etc.
- Experience of using DBT, Airflow will be highly appreciated.
- Ability to explain insights, model outputs, concepts in a lucid manner to business stakeholders.
- Good presentation skills
