The Executive Director, HOCT Portfolio Strategic Management & Integration Lead , will report and act as a key strategic partner to the Senior Vice President, Head of Program Leadership, Hematology, Oncology, and Cell Therapy (HOCT) and cross-functional leaders of the Asset and Portfolio Operating Committee (APOC). BMS has one of the most exciting HOCT portfolios in the industry that spans disease areas, numerous modalities and platforms (e.g., protein degradation, immune-oncology, biologics, radioligand, ADC, targeted therapies) and is comprised of > 40 clinical stage assets. The Executive Director will have the chance to play a critical part in ensuring & integrating end-to-end drug development principles across the HOCT portfolio, anticipating and planning for key governance meetings such as APOC, CDOC, PSC, S&T, board interactions, and paving the way for the success of the pipeline.
The incumbent will be a key thought partner to APOC leadership, partnering across functions, and overseeing the governance of APOC for the HOCT portfolio, and managing key strategic projects identified by APOC. The Executive Director will be responsible for ensuring portfolio resources are maximized in support of drug development objectives and priorities, and proactively identifying business opportunities, recommending innovative solutions and ensuring those solutions are incorporated.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing and integrating the HOCT program portfolio
Support SVP Program leadership by integrating and driving key drug development objectives as an active member of the APOC team and HOCT Program Leadership Team (PLT)
Establish a disciplined approach to partnering with S&OP team in setting, executing, and measuring GPT success against development priorities
Oversight of HOCT program portfolio spend including partnering with finance in budget planning, P1-3, and identifying opportunities to reallocate resources as needed
Identify areas of synergy, best practice, and opportunity for improvement related to Global Program Team effectiveness across HOCT
Lead key strategic workstreams including thematic areas of focus (IO, protein degradation, targeted therapies, ect)
Qualifications & Experience
BA/BS required. PhD, MD, PharmD, or other graduate degree strongly preferred
15+ years of experience across related disciplines, drug development, business development, commercial, Business Insights & Analytics, Finance or strategic management consulting experiences
Strong knowledge of biopharmaceutical industry; possesses a global understanding of end-to-end drug development, manufacturing, and commercialization processes
Demonstrated strong ability to combine strategic thinking skills and drug development operational acumen to identify strategic and/or operational opportunities to drive performance for superior results
Experience working cross-functionally at senior management level and ability to direct/guide complex business and enterprise-wide decision-making at leadership team and above
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and design and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Results driven, with excellent organizational, analytical, and planning skills
Executive communication style; concise and impactful oral & written communication skills
