Description:
The Digital Project Manager will work closely with operations, PPI, engineering and other stakeholders to deploy technological solutions that streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enhance productivity. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management experience, and knowledge of manufacturing processes. This position plays a key role in ensuring Digital Operations projects are effectively led and with an Agile mindset. As required, this role could be expanded to drive other related key initiatives for the program.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead digital transformation projects aimed at optimizing manufacturing processes, such as automation, IoT integration, Digital Performance Management platforms, and data management solutions.
Develop comprehensive project plans that define goals, timelines, and milestones for the implementation of digital tools and solutions in the manufacturing environment.
Work closely with manufacturing engineers, process engineers, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure successful implementation of digital solutions that align with business objectives.
Work with different manufacturing operations and technical operations teams to understand the business processes and become part of building solutions.
Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for digitization and automation. Implement solutions that improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality.
Develop roadmaps and playbooks for each of the digital transformation projects. Continuously improve the process and practices by automating manual processes and improving project execution efficiency
Identify potential risks associated with digital projects, including integration challenges and data security issues. Develop risk mitigation strategies.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to digital initiatives, such as production efficiency, system uptime, and cost savings. Prepare reports for senior management on project outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
Minimum 5+ years of project management experience, with a focus on digital projects in manufacturing environments.
Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence) and familiarity with Agile and Lean methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, IT professionals, and external vendors, in complex digital initiatives.
Strong understanding of different software development methodologies like Waterfall, Agile, iterative development, etc.
Familiarity with industrial automation, IoT (Internet of Things) technologies, and data analytics tools.
Strong written and oral communication skills with internal customers and all levels of management in a non-technical manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing large-scale digital transformation projects within a manufacturing environment.
Certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional), SAFe or Lean Six Sigma.
Experience in Life Sciences and/or manufacturing domain
