The Position

Are you ready to be at the forefront of our diagnostic solutions? As a Field Application Specialist (d/f/m) you will be responsible for supporting customers of all the assays and reagents from the Roche Sequencing Solutions product portfolio. You will be the direct contact for application-related inquiries from our field staff and our customers in hospitals, research and private laboratories.

You will become part of a highly qualified service team and will be working closely with the wider team and all other areas of Roche to provide excellent support for our customers. Together, we manage the rollout and support of our new SBX platform, supporting each other through peer-to-peer knowledge sharing. In our team, personal responsibility and a passion for technical precision in the field of genomics are what truly count.

Your responsibilities 

  • Application support for all Roche Sequencing Products and Assays ;
  • Installation support and customer training for Roche Sequencing Systems together with the Service team ;
  • Troubleshooting onsite to answer inquiries and resolve problems ;
  • Co-creating and conducting customer application trainings ;
  • Assisting the local sales and marketing organizations with your expertise ;
  • Working with liquid handlers and their respected vendors ;
  • Monitoring the service processes and overall product/system quality ;
  • Attending internal meetings and events (remotely and in person) as well as external events (seminars, conferences etc) ;

Your profile

You should be resilient, and tenacious. You strive under pressure, working effectively as part of a close-knit team in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines. With strong analytical skills, you are at ease working with technical, scientific and numeric information. 

You will focus on France territory, but are also ready to travel to other European countries on occasion. Due to regional deployment planning and travel times, you should ideally live in close proximity to an international airport, preferably Paris or Lyon. Furthermore, you hold a valid driver's license and have a high willingness to travel to support our customers in other European countries.

  • Education: You have successfully completed your studies in the natural sciences (e.g. biology, chemistry, medicine) and ideally obtained a PhD ;
  • Experience: Ideally 3 years of professional experience in a research or service institution where you have acquired in-depth knowledge of NGS technologies ;
  • Experience in establishing NGS workflows on different liquid handling systems and having basic understanding of bioinformatics is a plus ;
  • Good knowledge of the IVD market as well as in-depth scientific knowledge in genomics, oncology and the product and market environment ;
  • Capacity to analyze problems and presenting an adequate solution ;
  • Project management experience ; 
  • You communicate fluently in French and have very good English skills for working within an interdisciplinary, international team of experts.
