What is a Data Engineering team responsible for?

  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data accuracy, quality, and availability.
  • Optimize data architectures and pipelines for performance and cost-efficiency.

What is a Senior Software Engineer responsible for?

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reliable, and scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, and Azure.
  • Develop and maintain complex SQL queries and scripts to transform, aggregate, and manipulate data.
  • Work closely with the business and technical teams to gather and analyze requirements and provide technical expertise in data engineering and data warehouse design.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring high availability and reliability of data systems.
  • Implement data governance and data management best practices.
  • Build Semantic models.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation processes.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Azure, data pipelines and Power BI.
  • Proficient in SQL, with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
  • Experience in building and managing data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with other cloud data platforms and tools.
  • Familiarity with programming languages including Python and C#.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data security best practices.
  • Real estate assets management domain knowledge is a plus.
