The Senior Quality Laboratory Analyst is responsible for providing leadership to laboratory analysts/ associate analysts in completion of specification testing and related laboratory tasks supporting the Blending Operation to schedule to ensure raw materials and finished products meet company and/or customer quality expectations.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Provides leadership to Laboratory Analysts and the Associate Laboratory Analysts including coaching and development, managing schedules and day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Responsible for acting as subject matter expert on Laboratory Operations for Blending work centers, including raw material requirements, in-process testing and finished product testing.
  • Responsible for managing the completion of product non-conformance investigations in a timely manner and reporting results to quality engineer.
  • Recommends and implements corrective actions resulting from laboratory investigations or proficiency testing and monitor their effectiveness. 
  • Releases Incoming Raw Materials for use in production based on business needs and quality metrics.
  • Communicates late release to manager and participates in late release investigations.  Manage release timeframe of inbound raw materials and finished goods by monitoring outstanding testing of products in QI status. 
  • Review laboratory data for accuracy; communicate concerns and nonconformances to laboratory supervisor. 
  • Participate in Improvement of Quality Assurance and Food Safety systems through continuous improvement activities. Write, revise and update laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to meet evolving customer and business needs and developing methodology.   
  • Participates in facility GMP audits
  • Back up to the Quality Assurance Specialist and Sr. Quality Laboratory Analyst -Blending
  • Perform other work as assigned. 

Qualified candidates will have: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or related field. 
  • Desire to manage people. 1+ year supervisory experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of laboratory experience. 
  • Proven record of ability to independently prioritize work for timely completion.
  • Strong computer skills. knowledge and experience using statistical analysis preferred.
  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and numerical skills with the ability to compare information accurately and quickly.
  • High level of honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Availability to work weekend shifts, as needed.

Pay Range:

$65,000.00-$86,666.67 Annual

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
