Position Summary
Conducts daily rounds and monitors the health of research rodents. Documents and communicates findings about research rodent health. Collect biological samples from animals and administer treatments under the supervision of veterinary staff. Performs weekend rounds to triage health issues in multiple species. Conducts work according to departmental SOPs, IACUC policies, and the regulations of the Public Health Service.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conducts daily rounds and examines, evaluates, treats and documents health issues and their related service charges in research rodents.
- Collects samples or doses rodents to support investigator projects or the DCM rodent sentinel program.
- Prepares, maintains and cleans surgical suite/equipment in accordance with established policies and regulations.
- Conducts rotational weekend rounds including triage of cases involving non-rodent species.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range
$16.92 - $26.44 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
