Job Summary

A member of the healthcare team who functions under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and performs a variety of technical and supportive functions to assist with the care of the patient throughout their perioperative phase of hospitalization utilizing hospital/departmental standards, policies, protocols and procedures.

Job Requirements

Education

•  
• Required: Graduate from a school of Surgical Technology or 5 years' experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Required: Credentialed by the ABSA or CAAHED as a certified first assistant/certified surgical technologist or certified surgical assistant having graduated from an accredited program en route to certification with proof of eligibility to take exam for certification

Experience

• Required: Previous hospital and/or work experience as a Surgical Technologist for 36 months before First Assistant Program.

• Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment

Licensure/Certification/Registration
