Job Title:

Job Summary:

To plan, coordinate, and manage the activities of staff engaged in the transport of patients. To facilitate data collection, metrics, and analysis.

Education & Experience

Associate’s degree and four (4) years of customer service or related experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required:  CPR-Heartsaver - American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire date. All certifications and licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates the work activities of assigned personnel to include work allocation, scheduling, training, evaluation, and problem resolution.
  • Provides optimal customer service. Good communications and interpersonal skills. Able to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Provides a streamlined transport process. Promotes interpersonal communication with other departments.  Serves as a liaison to other departments; transports patients as needed.
  • Recommends and implements upon approval changes to improve operational effectiveness; promotes continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Good organization and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks.  Able to establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with patients and staff. Able to make sound decisions.
  • Monitors expenditures and implements measures to facilitate workflow and increase productivity. Maximize the utilization of space and resources.
  • Implements and ensures compliance with department policies and procedures.

Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, frequent bending, occasional lifting and carrying more than 100 pounds, occasional crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, occasional sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
