Position Description

Our Engineer II works with our senior Engineers to innovate and build new systems, improve and enhance existing systems. The ideal candidate knows specifically Cassandra database or related key value database technologies.

Position Responsibilities

As a Engineer II, you will:

Utilize Python and Golang and other open source object language for the tools development.
Capable to study and learn open-source database source code mainly for Java. 
Be very familiar with relational and non-relational databases. 
Have a understanding of container orchestration including Docker and Kubernetes and have experience implementing database workloads in containers. 

Qualifications

 You are transparent and decisive 
 You have a prejudice for action and an iterative approach to software 
 You learn from your mistakes and pass the knowledge on to others 
 In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms 
 Experience solving analytical problems with quantitative approaches 
 Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment 
 Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication) 
 Experience with micro-services oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs 
 Understand the software architecture and design 
 Understand the monitor tools (Prometheus and Grafana)
 Proficient in HA database architectures and tools 
 Bonus for experience with the K8ssandra Kubernetes operator 

Experience

 2+ years of professional experience in software development, programming languages and database infrastructure, installation, configuration and maintenance of the hardware, software, and network systems 
 2+ years of experience in open-source frameworks 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience


 

Annual Salary

$80,000.00 - $160,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
