SUMMARY

The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing cost accounting function. The position is for a proactive and creative problem solver comfortable in leading efficiency improvements and strategic actions. As well as being a strong communicator who can provide recommendations to Senior Management in order to continuously drive towards the site’s strategic goals. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Finance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for reporting, forecasting and analyzing the manufacturing cost sections of the P&L

and balance sheet. This includes standard costs, variances to standards, operating direct

charges and inventory. Prepare relevant journal entries as part of the month end close process

and submits and reviews results in IDEX reporting software (OneStream)

Coordinate cost management functions to ensure accurate, timely product cost and inventory

account information for compliance with corporate reporting requirements. This includes inventory

reserve calculations and balances, where required by U.S. GAAP Accounting and IDEX corporate

policy.

Participates in the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of financial reports for quarterly and

monthly operation and business reviews

Work with planning and operations to cost new products

Support manufacturing operations to include:

o Monitor, review and analyze daily manufacturing activities. Provide variances and root

cause analysis for relevant, accurate and timely input and performance reporting.

o Assist manufacturing team with development and implementation of efficiency metrics.

o Review standards against current cost roll-ups on a regular basis to ensure accurate cost

data and provide feedback on product margin analysis.

o Evaluate BOM costing accuracy and communicate exceptions.

o Perform make-buy analyses for parts / assemblies.

o Participate in productivity improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives as requested.

o Support inventory optimization initiatives, including driving processes to identify and

communicate excess and obsolete stocks, evaluate root cause front end process drivers

and maintain appropriate disposition policies and procedures.

o EOZ analysis

o Perform annual material, labor and burden standards review and update.

o Lead the annual physical inventory count. Ensure integrity of the count process and

results.

JOB QUAILIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

JDE ERP experience preferred

5+ years of accounting experience; cost accounting preferred

3+ years of operational experience, especially with inventory

Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail

Excellent communication skills and high confidence in stating professional opinions

Self-motivated, focused and able to identify needs and implement solutions with minimal

supervision.

Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts

Extremely strong Excel skills, especially advanced financial modeling and analytical techniques

PowerBI experience preferred

Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex processes

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $74,000.00 - $111,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
