Job Summary:

The Women's Health Safety & Quality Program Manager will provide support for Women's Alliance for Healthier Outcomes (WAHOO) Program, Women's Health Safety & Quality Program, ERAS GYN ONC Major Surgery/ERAC, and Patient Experience. They will oversee safety & quality initiatives, as identified by leadership, ensuring effective and efficient implementation. The program manager will provide direct technical and educational supervision and support to all team members caring for the women's health population. Program management will include all aspects of planning and implementation for the Quality Alliance program and its' strategic plan, including technical expertise and support, coordination with key stakeholders and partners, data-driven monitoring and initiative evaluation, integration of education around best practices, team member skills, and performance. The Women's Health Safety & Quality Program Manager will be responsible for developing new project proposals for the Quality Alliance that build on the successes, lessons learned, and needs assessments of ongoing initiatives and/or new ideas for the Alliance.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Program Management
- Manage all ongoing and new initiatives within the Womens Health Safety Quality Program
- Promote facility and caregiver level engagement as defined within the programs strategic plan.
- Provide technical and educational supervision and support to team members caring for the womens health population.
- Design and implement team and individual caregiver education to support program initiatives, including simulation or other active learning activities and any training materials.
- Ensure program and project activities are on track, including developing and implementing solutions as needed.
- Maintain program transparency and accountability providing feedback to ensure optimal performance.
- Facilitate team building and cohesive work amongst team members and with all key stakeholders.
- Participate in the development, review, analysis, reporting, and integration of data analytics within all Alliance activities and initiatives as directed.
- Propose new projects and/or changes to program initiatives based on the successes, lessons learned, and needs assessments of current projects Quality / Safety and Accreditation
- Monitors key outcome data for all womens health clinical areas.
- Review womens health serious safety events and attend RCAs to ensure appropriate action plans put in place and sustained.
- Promotes performance improvement initiatives designed to enhance quality patient care and improve work processes, especially focusing on clinical and operational outcomes.
- Promotes safety in the work environment and delivery of patient care. Assures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with performance improvement activities across the system to ensure attainment of performance and quality improvement standards for assigned area (womens health services)
- Monitors compliance of State, Federal, Joint Commission regulations in all departments and collaborates on action plans with sites.
- Monitors patient satisfaction surveys on an on-going basis and makes appropriate recommendations, changes based on trending and survey results.
- Support of TJC Perinatal Levels of Care Certification across the system Education Lead/Mentor
- Partner with Womens Health Clinical Nurse Specialist on learning programs to support change in process, policy, or practice with the goal of improving the care for the womens health community.
- Utilizes adult learning theory as a framework for the creation of best practice learning activities and ensures competency after learning initiative.
- Collaborates with and includes an interdisciplinary team to ensure learning activities are inclusive of all disciplines and care team members.
- Drive the Womens Health Safety Quality change management process through implementation of educational initiatives with a focus on sustainability of practice and behavior change.
- Drive implementation of ERAS ERAC education across the system, including monitoring of compliance.
- Monitors, measures, and records learning activities and effectiveness using Kirkpatrick Model of evaluation Evidence Based Practice and Research
- Utilizes evidence to guide the development of learning programs with regards to content, methods, and evaluation.
- Ensures all educational initiatives support current policies, expected practices, and accreditation requirements as applicable based on evidence-based guidelines and best practices.
- Utilize local and system level data, including educational, engagement, and quality outcome elements, to drive alliance initiatives and the overall program.
- Supports the implementation of Lean and associated tools and methodologies to improve practice and engage teams around improvement.
- Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Education:

Bachelor's Degree Graduate of an accredited/approved program with a bachelors degree in nursing Required and
Master's Degree Preferred

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

  • Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact

Required Minimum Experience:

Experience in education, project management, program implementation, and training Preferred and
Minimum 5 years experience in related field. Required

Required Minimum Skills:

Ability to read, write and speak English language
Basic computer skills including proficiency in MS Office products and the ability to incorporate technology in learning
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, and respectful manner
Possess excellent time management skills
Possess a strong understanding of adult learning theories and ability to utilize multi-methods to implement training/development.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills
Outstanding oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence at all levels within the organization
Expanded knowledge of adult learning theory and teaching methodologies
Preferred knowledge of and experience with womens health nursing practice
