The Global Marine Health & Safety Culture Lead reports directly to the Head of HSSEQ & Marine Operations in Group Operations. This is a global position based in Copenhagen, Denmark, with up to 40 travel days per year.

Key Responsibilities

As the Global Marine Health & Safety Culture Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the cultural shift in safety across Svitzer by embedding a learning mindset from daily operations using a human factors approach grounded in Safety II/safety differently philosophy
  • Driving incident learning processes through data insights, engagement with frontline teams, and learning initiatives.
  • Collaborating closely with leadership teams to refine and execute our safety strategy.
  • Serving as a Safety Coach to leaders, fostering a proactive and engaged safety culture.
  • Spearheading the Global Safety Day and other initiatives to ensure continuous improvement in our health and safety performance.

We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate brings:

  • Significant experience driving cultural change, particularly in health and safety across complex organizations using a human factors approach with Safety II/ Safety Differently philosophy
  • Expertise in maritime operations or adjacent industries and a strong understanding of associated risks.
  • Excellent facilitation and strategic thinking skills, with a track record of successful project management.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment, effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A structured, solution-oriented mindset and a passion for exceeding expectations.

Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is required, as is a valid Danish work and residence permit. Experience in the towage, shipping, or maritime industries is an asset, but not a must.
