Summary of Role: 

GlobalFoundries is seeking a motivated engineer with a keen interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning to join the Design Technology Enablement Department in Malta, New York.  This is a challenging opportunity in the dynamic field of semiconductors and software engineering, enabling the candidate to enhance their familiarity and expertise in semiconductor processes, chip design, EDA, and advanced software development. We are looking for someone who can develop outstanding software solutions to realize the development and enhancement of technology nodes ranging from 180nm to advanced 12nm including FinFET, FD-SOI, and photonic technologies.    

 

Essential Responsibilities Include: 

  • Develop and provide software solutions to realize design manual technology specifications for internal teams and external customers. 

  • Leverage advanced SW skills and practices, including AI.

  • Work closely with the technology integration team and automate and optimize design rule generation. 

  • Standardize design rule development and data consumption process.  

  • Analyze and transform existing design rules to ensure optimized standard rule implementations.  

  • Identify gaps in current design rule standards and create new standards.  

  • Drive solutions to improve the efficiency and robustness of design rule development and validation. 

  • Autogenerate rule specifications and design rule illustrations. 

  • Verify and validate input sufficiency and validate auto or manually generated design rules or illustrations. 

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.  

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field from an accredited degree program 

  • Strong skills in Python. 

  • Experience in applying AI.

  • Familiarity with semiconductor process and device physics. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field from an accredited degree program 

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in Industrial Engineering or related Manufacturing operations. 

  • Project management skills - the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Strong planning & organizational skills. 

  • Data analysis skills to simplify large amounts of data. 

  • Ability and desire to learn and explore new technologies, opportunities, and to continuously improve. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; strong presentation and communication skills.

Expected Salary Range

$52,500.00 - $107,000.00
