Job Summary

Senior Data Analyst, PHSO Analytics
Join Mass General Brigham’s Population Health Services Organization Analytics team and help turn complex healthcare data into insights that improve outcomes, inform strategy, and support value-based care programs.

About the Team
PHSO Analytics is the data and analytics function within MGB Digital supporting Mass General Brigham’s Population Health Services Organization. The team delivers end-to-end analytics for value-based care programs, with a focus on improving clinical outcomes, managing cost and utilization, and optimizing performance in risk-based contracts.

About the Role
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will partner closely with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders to deliver actionable insights across quality performance, risk adjustment and capture, care management, and payer contract performance. Using data from sources such as claims, EMR/Epic, and enterprise data platforms, you will develop dashboards, reports, and analytic models that inform strategic decision-making and drive measurable improvements in population health.
In this consultative role, you will provide data expertise, ad hoc analysis, KPI definition, and performance measurement support to help align programs and strengthen decision-making. Core deliverables include internal performance frameworks, cost and utilization analytics, quality reporting, and analytic support for clinical programs such as care management and post-acute initiatives.

What You’ll Do
• Collect, clean, and transform large, complex data sets from multiple sources to support analysis and reporting.
• Partner with senior leaders to understand business needs and plan data analytics and reporting solutions for assigned business units or functional areas.
• Mentor and train other data analysts, sharing best practices and strengthening team capabilities.
• Identify trends, correlations, and anomalies in data, and translate findings into clear explanations and recommendations.
• Create clear, concise, and visually compelling data visualizations, dashboards, and reports.
• Present complex data and analytical findings in a meaningful, accessible way for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Perform comprehensive quality assurance to ensure data, dashboards, and reports are accurate, reliable, and aligned with end-user specifications.


 

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

Required experience: 5–7 years of experience in data analysis.

  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, data visualization, and business intelligence tools such as Tableau.
  • Ability to communicate complex workflows and data insights to diverse audiences.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with risk adjustment models such as CMS-HCC or DxCG is a plus.
  • Knowledge of value-based care models is a plus.
  • Project management experience or related skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques, including variance analysis and statistical significance testing, is preferred.
  • Healthcare experience, particularly with electronic medical record data or claims data, is preferred but not required.

    Working Model

    • This is a full-time role supporting Monday–Friday Eastern business hours.
    • The role follows a hybrid model that includes onsite work at local Mass General Brigham sites weekly or monthly, based on business needs.
    • Candidates should be flexible to attend in-person stakeholder meetings, team meetings, and internal customer meetings at least once weekly or twice monthly.
    • On remote workdays, employees must work from a stable, secure, and compliant workstation in a quiet environment. Teams video is required and must be accessed using MGB-provided equipment.
