KJUS | Assistant Retail Manager

Full-time (Seasonal) - Vail, CO (Lionshead and Beavercreek)

Role is Bonus Eligible

Lead with purpose at KJUS as an Assistant Retail Manager in Vail, CO, where premium performance meets exceptional customer experience. In this full-time leadership role, you’ll oversee all aspects of store operations—from staffing and sales to inventory and visual merchandising—ensuring brand consistency and operational excellence across locations. You’ll play a hands-on role in driving profitability, mentoring staff, and shaping the in-store experience, while collaborating with executive leadership to align strategy and performance.

Primary Responsibilities

Retail Store Management/Procedures (45%)

  • Ensure the store meets company standards for merchandising, visual presentation, cleanliness, and loss prevention
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures as the primary key holder for all locations
  • Maintain accurate pricing and stock levels; manage inventory using POS system and customer feedback.
  • Support in analyzing sales performance and in season replenishments
  • Follow and refine retail operating procedures to drive efficiency, scalability, and excellence
  • Staff scheduling for all retail locations
  • Review and approve staff timecards and commissions
  • Perform other duties as required to support retail operations

Customer Experience & Sales (40%)

  • Actively participate as a retail associate at various retail locations including coverage for open shifts
  • Responsible for the store’s visual merchandising in line with brand guidelines and target customer expectations

Recruiting, Training & Staff Development (15%)

  • Partner with HR to support recruitment, interviewing, and training of retail staff
  • Create and manage staff schedules while accommodating time-off requests and operational needs
  • Develop and deliver training for product knowledge, warranty/return policies, and operational procedures
  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable employment laws

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of retail experience
  • 1 year of retail management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a premium/luxury environment
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations including inventory control, scheduling, POS systems, reporting, Microsoft office and sales planning.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets, implement promotions, and execute marketing initiatives at the store level
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work across departments (e.g., marketing, e-comm, logistics)
  • Strong understanding of visual merchandising and brand consistency across physical retail channels.
  • Typically, long periods of sitting, standing, and/or walking
  • Must be able to lift 30lbs and carry boxes up and downstairs
  • A passion for the outdoor sports industry
Pay Range: $57,800.00-$68,576.50
