Position Summary and Responsibilities:

The Senior Analyst will be a key contributor of our growing credit team and will report to our Managing Director of Valuations and Pricing. The role will be based in Brookfield’s New York office at Brookfield Place. 

  • Complete valuations as a part of the monthly or quarterly portfolio valuation process

  • Ability to assist in reviewing complex private credit, securitized products, and complex financial models (e.g., to value specific securities or transaction structures)

  • Assist with the coordination and administration of the private equity and/or debt valuation function, such as interacting with front office teams, investment accounting, investment compliance, legal departments, internal/ external auditors, and third-party valuation firms

  • Assist with research and analysis projects, such as market industry and comparable sales analysis

  • Assist with other ad hoc projects within the Investment Operations Group

  • Ensure that valuations are consistent with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Preparing and delivering valuation reports in valuation committees

  • Helping identify and recommend methods to increase overall efficiency of service deliverables
     

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience assessing creditworthiness of borrowers, including analyzing financial statements, cash flow projections and other relevant data

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work cooperatively and successfully with employees, customers, and other outside third parties

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

  • Proficient in the use of MicroSoft Office Suite

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical/operational procedures

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

  • Ability to successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Statistics, Economics, Engineering (any), related field

  • 3-5 years of credit valuation experience within valuation/appraisal, Big 4, or another financial advisory firm

  • Strong financial modeling experience including waterfall cashflows

  • A strong ability to efficiently handle multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines

  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, Bloomberg, Blackrock Aladdin, DV01, and INTEX

  • CFA preferred; MBA, CVA, ABV are nice to have

Salary Range: $110,000 – 130,000

Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
