Job Description Summary:

This position teaches well organized private and group lessons utilizing professional teaching methods. Creates a fun-based learning atmosphere and an inclusive, safe playing environment with all tennis activities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience coaching tennis at a sports facility or a school setting required.
  • Current HS AED CPR certification required.
  • Minimum eighteen (18) years of age required.
  • U.S. Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) certification preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and ability to learn other software as needed.
  • Possess basic office skills including cash register operation preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Primary duties include; teaching well organized private and group lessons utilizing professional teaching methods.  Lessons will include beginner and intermediate players consisting of all population age groups.
  • Other duties include; scheduling lessons, membership relations, front desk correspondence, responding to tennis related injuries, ball and equipment upkeep, lesson record keeping, and basic court maintenance (nets, scorecards, ball machine, benches, etc.).
  • Works closely with assigned leadership in promoting, programming, organizing, and operating all tennis events (tournaments, socials, leagues, etc.).
  • Works closely with Youth Development programming to grow and develop youth tennis in the Flathead Valley and surrounding communities.
  • Maintains a high skill and playing level.
  • Participates in playing exhibitions, instructional videos, and demonstrations.
  • Collaborates with the Logan Health Medical Fitness Center (LHMFC) and Youth Development to align the tennis values with the core mission.
  • Provides tennis service amenities such as racquet demos, stringing, and grips.
  • Proactively greets all members and guests in a friendly, professional and enthusiastic manner and gives first priority to customers.
  • Efficiently and accurately performs all closing and opening procedures per department protocol.
  • Keeps the Tennis area and Tennis Center clean and organized per department protocol. 
  • Understands and stays up to date and proficient in all issues related to safety and emergency procedure.

Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
