Project Role Description : Manage day-to-day activities of a data center, including physical and security checks, physical tape/media management, assistance with physical vendor intervention (e.g. replacement of a part), act as "remote hands" for the administrator.

Summary:
As a Data Centre Operator, a typical day involves overseeing the routine operations within a data center environment. This includes conducting thorough physical inspections and security verifications to ensure the integrity and safety of the facility. The role requires managing physical media such as tapes and other storage devices, coordinating with vendors for hardware interventions, and providing hands-on support remotely to system administrators. The position demands vigilance, coordination, and proactive management to maintain smooth and secure data center functionality throughout the day.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Coordinate and oversee vendor activities to ensure timely and effective resolution of hardware issues.
- Monitor and maintain physical security protocols to safeguard data center assets.
- Support junior team members by providing guidance and facilitating knowledge sharing.

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in SAS Platform.
- Experience in managing physical media and tape handling within data center environments.
- Strong understanding of data center operational procedures and security standards.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders including vendors and internal teams.
- Skilled in troubleshooting hardware issues and providing remote hands support.
- Familiarity with physical infrastructure monitoring and maintenance.

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 7.5 years of experience in SAS Platform.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
